Sucrose
1961. I know all of you were dying to know what table sugar (sucrose) looked like under a microscope, so here it is. This slide is from one of dad's sophomore-year high school projects. Sorry there isn't a people picture tonight. It must be the geek in me but I think it looks pretty cool. View Larger Size from Flickr.
Also, while I am on the subject of microscopes, check out some very crazy pictures of insects and other small things in these Scanning Electron Microscope groups on Flickr (I would post some examples here but most of the images are copyrighted):
Well, What Do You Know?
I only just figured out that there is a subscription feed for all the comments on the blog. This will make keeping track of all the comments on the pictures so much easier. In case any of you are interested, here is the link to subscribe to the comments (I've also added this link to the column on the right side of this blog):

Bird Feeders
San Diego, CA (1975). Mom and Kenneth. This is one of my favorites so far. I am pretty sure this was taken at Sea World because this slide was surrounded with pictures of killer whales and dolphins. Oh, and did you notice mom's wig? View Larger Size from Flickr.

High School Graduation
Dad's High School Graduation (1963). This one was among some of the oldest slides I've scanned yet. I feel like I should submit it to some historical society or something :-P. View Larger Size from Flickr.

The Whole Gang
Grand Targhee (1995). This is from our family reunion in the Tetons so just about all of our cousins are in the photo. It was also shortly after we adopted Hanah. View Larger Size from Flickr.
